Go Green with a Goonie

This weekend we were fortunate enough to meet former child star and Hollywood actor Corey Feldman (The Goonies, Stand By Me, the Lost Boys, Gremlins) who is quite an activist in issues close to his heart.

One of them is indeed the whole green agenda and he's even sung a song about the environment. Check out his song "Green is the colour" from his band Truth Movement's forthcoming album "Technology Analogy". Corey wrote the song and sings it too, it also features Pink Floyd's John Carin!

Hear the song FREE for a limited time, on his very own website.

Check it out here.

More details coming soon..

Stand By Me always gets my goat, it was amazing and will never be repeated.

Cool, Corey is so hot! I think it's fab he's supporting the green effort. Well done Corey!

I've just heard the song, it's hauntingly beautiful. What lyrics and music, it's so mellow and organic. It grows as it progresses, and like the earth is just so.. natural. I can't wait for the album to come out, it's brilliant! Thanks Corey for your support, let's save the planet together!

The Lost Boy is found! Wow, I'm so thrilled Corey is doing this. He's an icon of the 80s and the fact that he's supporting environmental issues is just brill.

I grew up on his films and license to drive and lost boys are my fave. I thought ok it's cool when Hollywood says that people should go green but it's another thing to actually do something about it.

Corey actually going green himself and even writing a song about the whole green agenda is fantastic. I can;t believe he's done this, well done and thank you Corey!

And thanks to Its Up to All of Us for letting us know!!!

I FREAKED when I first saw Lost Boys! I love that movie. I recently saw part 2 which isn't as good but is a cool way of continuing it. I hope they make Lost Boys 3 now given the ending of 2 and the return of Alan Frog and Sam.

Ok, geek moment over.

Back to the issue. I had no idea my favourite Goonie was so green! I love the Truth Movement and will order the new CD, I love the song Green is the Colour too! I agree with Mya, it's mellow and organic and hits home.

Change the World with a Corey! No, with THE Corey! He's the best!!!! I love you Feldman!!

I am so happy he is a greenie. It's important for us, our generation and future generations and from what I hear he has a young son too, so he's helping provide for his future.

I also saw him at the Raindance festival and he was ace (although the bloke asking him qs could have done a better job). Corey, come to Harrow and perform live! We have a massive open air event and you have to come, I want to see you at Under One Sky next year!

Let's go green together!!! Can't wait for the album, love you! XXX

I am tripping on this song, it's amazing! What a voice and what lyrics, it's truly fabulous.

Thank you for showing us the green light and for this effort.

"Raping the forest, the mountain and the seas, pursuing a profit at the cost of the free"

- never were truer words spoken.

This is a HUGE moment, unite and go green!

OMG! This is so awesome! What a song! I read the post and said wow but didn't hear the song until someone quoted from it, what words..

I'm speechless.

Love it. Thank you Corey, you rock!

appallingly, ignoring the price and the mess that we leave..

GO GREEN is my new mantra after hearing this song, when's the CD out, I WANT IT!!!

Anonymous said...

"We need green"
I reallly like the name Truth Movement, it's so cool! And a beautiful song, thanks guys for highlighting this. Heres to it being the biggest anthem of forever. Can we please hear it live in Harrow sometime? Corey?

Anonymous said...

i am in love with this song xxxxxx

Anonymous said...

go green, green greeeeeeen! wow!

Anonymous said...

seems we have a virtual singalong going on! You guys really like the lyrics don't you?

I just heard it and you're so right, it's extremely effective. I liked the kids at the beginning and the lyrics about 'technology wins at mother nature's demise'. It's like every line is a message, so apt that the band's called truth movement!

Great stuff and yep, nice voice!

i can't believe one of my fave actors of the 80s has such a cool voice! I liked his deep frogman voice but you'd never expect he'd be a good singer. Reminds me of oasis a bit too!

Thanks Corey, make a green album next please!!!! Hope you're reading this!

Wow, how does this guy not age? He looks EXACTLY as he used to!

Anonymous said...

Has anyone seen the two coreys? I just read about it online but haven't seen it here in the UK on tv..

Anonymous said...

Don't think it's shows here mate.

His song is THE anthem of green. I can't get it out of my head and was thinking about it while walking through Harrow this morning. I love Harrow - the greenery, the people, the community. then I thought about what the song says: just think about what your children will miss and it made me really sad.

I hope we can all make our efforts to preserve what we have so that there is a positive tomorrow.

Great song Corey, thanks for your support on these issues! We love you!

a great effort, song and message! Go Green!

I love Corey Feldman, he was the greatest, coolest and funniest child star ever. Forget Culkin and Haim, this guy had depth. Check out Stand By me for an intense performance, Lost Boys for a cool underplayed creation of a cult character, License to Drive for a hilarious example of perfect comic timing and The Goonies for a fantastic adventure with an ensemble cast.

I recently saw the Birthday and it is brilliant. Weird as hell, but brilliant and Corey has grown so much as an actor, he's as good as Peter Sellers in the Party. We have a new genius, more of Corey please! And yeah, me too I love his song about going green and I recycle, have solar panels on my roof (although they don't work too well), have an insulated loft and will try and make my next car a hybrid (if I can afford it). Thanks for this, love you Corey.

Corey's song is the best. At first I thought yeah yeah another celeb trynig to sing then when I heard it I was like WOW. The guy can sing and write and get a point across. And that too such an important message. Wicked stuff, well done. Looking forward to the album!

Has his band ever toured UK?

Anonymous said...

Ok I want this song. NOW>

Anonymous said...

and I want Corey now!

Anonymous said...

I've been listening to this song straight for 7 days and on repeat about 3 times. No loud annoying guitars, nice soothing melody and a great inspiring way to start your day. I'm gonna buy this CD, is it releasing in the UK?

Anonymous said...

I think you have to order it through the website at this point, not sure if it's on hmv or amazon.

Anonymous said...

The Birthday is amazing! I just saw it on DVD, this is a cult classic! How can this not have released in cinemas? It's awesome especially the end

Anonymous said...

Corey was brill in the Birthday, his best performance of his adult life. I saw Stand by Me again on the weekend and it gave me chills. Child actors shouldn't have to do those kinda scenes that are so emotional. I know they see it as pretend playing but it still must mess up their psyche a bit. But Corey in TheBday is just WOW. You'd never expect it!

Anonymous said...

Is corey reading this blog?

Anonymous said...

i dont know but im reading his x

Anonymous said...

i tried leaving a comment on his but no luck.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Woo hoo!!!!! Corey, we love you and the song is the best! Can't wait for the CD!

Anonymous said...

Corey is reading this guys, check out his blog at coreyfeldman.wordpress.com and see how he stumbled across this and loved our responses! It's great! Can someone from It's Up to All of Us confirm Corey checking out the blog?

Ok going back to the song, I think it is just pure unadulterated magnificent joyful beauty. There's no other way to describe it. The serene sounds of nature in the beginning like a new dawn, the innocence of children narrating in their truthful ways how they love green and why, and then the gathering momentum of the melody before the voices kick in and "silently...." beginning every line with an adjective and then putting a spin on it and what is happening.

This song plus the Happening movie need to get major kudos as 2 efforts that have helped push a message out there. This song is on repeat on my PC and I want the CD. Once it's on iTunes it's mine! I want the single and the album. On Corey's site it says the album is like a journey so I can't wait to check it out. Thank you truth movement, we are moved.. truth always!

Green is the colour of everything. Trees, the earth, everything. It's soul defining. Love it.

Anonymous said...

This song needs an audience and needs to be out there. We need a well produced video and it to be distributed to all the channels, a promo tour for the band and the song as part of an environmental drive and live performances. PLEASE!

Anonymous said...

Thanks It's Up to All of Us for alerting us to this. The song is fantastic and the message very true to home. Thanks again and thanks to Corey Feldman - that sure is a blast from the past!

Anonymous said...

i just came across this site and it's brilliant! The Corey song is amazing, did he write it? He's got a good voice you know! I loved Lost Boys 2 and freak on this song, it's awesome he's using his power to do good. Thanks to environmental efforts like this one that help spread the love.

Corey, I love your song and as of today have started cycling. I haven't cycled in over a year and stopped because I got lazy and started using my car more but not anymore. Every little helps and it's thanks to hearing your words and music.

"Just think of the world your children will miss... go Green!"

Anonymous said...

Goonies had an adventure 20 years ago and now today we're on our own adventure to save the planet! This is so cooooooool!

Anonymous said...

Pink Floyd and the Feldman! A match made on this green earth, thanks for an awesome collaboration dude, the song ROX!

Anonymous said...

Go green with a goonie is a cool title. How about light a lamp with a lost boy or stand by him>?

Anonymous said...

No it's ok, we like go green with a goonie. Everyone remembers this film.

Corey, it's a great song and the album looks like it's a real mix of styles, looking forward to hearing it and finding out the technology analogy. Here's to you rocking the world!

This song has the most wonderful message and is so positive. It speaks the truth like no other song before it on this subject. I'm particularly impressed that Corey is doing what he sings about - his CD is the greenest thing on the planet. I can't believe they made the extra effort to make it biodegradable, but Corey please, IF and it's unlikely, but IF we don't like the CD then we'll still keep it for the green song which is our fave one! Is it going to be on amazon.co.uk?

Anonymous said...

Corey, I have two words for you.

Awesome

and

Tour.

Now. Please.

Anonymous said...

I hear he's a vegetarian too, ooh the more I learn, the more I love!

Anonymous said...

Green is the colour of this generation and this song represents that perfectly. You've created a classic without knowing it. You can't engineer magic like this, it just happens.

Well done Corey! It's up to ALL of us!

Anonymous said...

We need a video for this song soon or we'll create one ourselves! I love this song, it's the most natural song on earth. In tune, hitting all my chakras and having a karma quotient of a million midichlorians!

Anonymous said...

John Carin!!!! Wow!

Anonymous said...

As a young person studying in Harrow, I must say I'm deeply influenced by this song. I go to Harrow College and pass the park every day and it really makes me think. I hope to do more to be involved in environmental issues now and love this song. Thanks Truth Movement and Corey Feldman. Let's do this!

Anonymous said...

I walk and cycle when I can, this song is encouraging me to do more than that. I'm going to actively try and make more of an effort at getting my voice heard about other issues too. Thanks It's up to all ofus and Corey Feldman. Green Forever!

Anonymous said...

License to be green! Love it!

Anonymous said...

I started cycling this year and was wondering when they'd make green cool. The its up to.. message does that. Love the Nicky Whelan ads, she's just perfection and then Martin Sheen was so cool but Corey Feldman, it doesn't get better than this. You guys are bringing all my faves from my life into the now! Thanks!

Anonymous said...

Just saw an ep of 2 coreys online, its wicked, especially feldman!

Anonymous said...

"Titled "Technology Analogy", the album reflects on the pros and cons of computer technology and how it is integrated into today’s society. How did it begin? Where did science derive from? And will communication and social interaction inevitably suffer from its evolution. These are the themes "Technology Analogy" seeks to explore."

nice pic, this guy is fly!

Green is the colour is a brilliant song. I only just heard it after by chance looking up Corey Feldman in Google and coming up with this site. It took me to other sites and stuff too and it's cool to know he's making some fantastic music with real musicians. Excellent stuff!

Anonymous said...

Green is more than an anthem, it's the start of a movement. I can't wait to see this song live like everyone else, but at the same time I hope it comes out on DVD as a live performance because I fear seeing it live with bad acoustics, terrible view and it not living up to my expectations. The best would be to see a perfectly shot live performance with excellent sound. Here's to us all getting the opportunity to and I'm in Germany so here's hoping he tours London, Germany, the rest of Europe and the US.

Go green everyone!

Anonymous said...

What a song and what a collaboration! Pink Floyd are legends and Feldman's an icon, great to see my fave two together. I really wanna see the birthday and am trying to get hold of it. The album looks fab, hope it's as good as the songs I've heard off it. Thanks for spreading the word! Hello Harrow!

I can't wait for Technology Analogy journey to start, it's gonna rock!
