Tom Cruise has a history with cool cars. We're not going to name-check the ones that didn't pass the green test but regularly shout about the electric Lexus in Minority Report. Now with the new trailer for Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol showing a glimpse of the film's use of the BMW i8 we are thrilled that yet again, an electric car is getting prominence.

BMW's Ian Robertson recently stated that the high-tech concept car is "the perfect car for Ethan Hunt to outsmart his pursuers through narrow streets and busy city traffic."

Tom Cruise will be seen driving a BMW i8 Plug in Hybrid in the new Mission Impossible film The Ghost Protocol. The electric hybrid has some impressive stats but what's even more impressive is how megastar Tom Cruise also featured an electric car in Minority Report almost a decade ago, showing the future really is in cleaner and more efficient vehicles.
