Harry Potter

As we receive an influx of visitors to the UK travelling to see the Olympics, many will undoubtedly be using the Tube. So if you're a Harry Potter fan, here are some fun facts about the Tube and your favourite wizard's world.

- In Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore has a scar in the exact shape of the London Tube network on his left knee.

- There is a "Platform 9 and 3/4" at Kings Cross Station. It's located in the walkway area between the intercity section and the section where the real platforms 9 and 10 are, and was obviously put there for fans of Harry Potter.

Obesity

Each kilometer walked per day is associated with a 4.8% reduction in the likelihood of obesity. However each additional hour in a car per day is associated with a 6% increase in the likelihood of obesity. - a fact we found on an entertaining card from the London European Partnership for Transport.
