Bring on the madness. All they need to do now is have ringtone type horns and we're in an ongoing asylum.
They aren't supposed to have sound, this is a ridiculous idea and I bet it'll use up more electricity. Plus you're right, it'd drive us nuts.
I'd have the A-Team theme tune!
If I have one tune, can I change it later and will more tunes be available from iTunes??
Dan, I sincerely hope you are joking and your prediction never comes to light. If we hook our cars up to the big Apple in the sky that would open up the doomsday scenario.
I can't believe this is going to happen. You'll ruin it for the rest of us!!!
Nice idea but I'd prefer a device that fits in pedestrians ears and electronically detects when an EV is near and sends a sonar signal indicating its proximity.
It makes more sense than fitting EVs with artificial sounds and especially offering those sounds up for choice such as your favorite theme tune or song which would simply not work.
Liam, you've really thought this through! Don't see it happening but well done for trying mate!
EVs are supposed to be quiet. You don't worry about there being no noise when you turn a plug on because people don't know electricity is passing, so why worry about EV sound??
EVs should be quiet. People wouldn't hear the sounds if they had them anyway as Liam hinted, people have their ears plugged with music devices and phones nowadays. They don't hear normal cars, they see them. They obey traffic lights and laws. Adding sound will only disrupt the peace and cause a nuisance like those mobile phones that blast music instead of being via earphones.
This is interesting and not viable at all. Also 999 emergency services would be drowned out.
It'll change the color of your energy field if you add sound.
This is a terrible idea and will not take off. I guarantee it.
