Infracharge Technologies Plc, the parent company behind the POD Point charging unit, has launched two new electric vehicle charging products – FastCharge and HomeCharge – and announced a replacement to its existing POD Point unit to be called DuoCharge – all under the new Chargemaster brand.
There were two charging points that were launched: FastCharge and HomeCharge. Both are branded by ChargeMaster. The FastCharge charges an electric vehicle in approx. 2.5 hours as it uses a 32A (7kw) current.
The HomeCharge can be installed in garages or driveways and automatically uses low-cost night-time electricity tariffs which can save up to 70% off the cost of charging. The unit also features the ability to remotely switch on the car’s heating and defrosting system 15 minutes before the owner needs to leave, providing a clear windscreen and a warm car without using battery charge. These will cost approx £400.
Both to launch in June.
That’s the info. You’ve seen the photos.

Thanks, good info and thanks for the live feed from the launch!
Great stuff, the home charging unit definitely looked the business and I'm pleased it's fairly priced too, any more and I'd be ranting about it.
I am encouraged by these products but as with anything, the proof is in the eating of the pudding. E.g. let's see how long it really takes for a full charge, where they are installed and how accessible they are (i.e. are we going to be charged anything to use them).
As an EV user I am pleased with this announcement but hope they start some grant to help us install the home charging. I live in an upstairs flat so can't trail cables outside and this would be a good solution. But if I'm doing my part for the planet, why can't I get a grant for a free home charge hub?
Yay for the fast charging, hope my car can handle it! Yay for it coming soon and like previous comment, hope it's free. The home charge looks cool and has good features to boot. £400 for just an outside plug wouldn't be worth it but yes add lights and you think it's almost worth £200 for looking so pretty. But yes the added features that warm up your car, use cheap electricity all add up to making it a nice and essential accessory. Just about worth £400.
