Calling All Electric Units!

The four-seater GEM, one of the world’s best selling electric cars, is now available to buy inBritain. 40,000 of the vehicles have already been sold around the world, which have proved popular with certain police forces, the military and NASA.

In this country the GEM is exempt from road tax, the London congestion charge and parking fees in many areas. The vehicle is available in a number of configurations and can be driven without doors if the weather allows. The range of the vehicle is 30 miles and it classifies as a quadricycle. More details on the GEM website.

Forgive me for my skepticism about this one taking off, but can you say one step forward, ten steps back?

Aargh! Enough of the quadricycles, people should just focus on the real EVs not these wannabe ones that bring the good rep of electric cars down. How can you have the NIssan Leaf on one hand and this on the other? This is terrible.

Criminals would run from the car alone, it's so ugly.
