The Government grant for electric vehicles, which was announced last year, is being put into effect as the criteria has now been announced. Only it hasn't brought the desired results due to manfacturers not having their vehicles ready yet, meaning 2012 could be the earliest most consumers will take advantage of the grant.

Excellent. So I can save 5k off a 80k+ car (when if I could afford that wouldn't care) and not off the at most 10k I'd spend on an actual car. Even my current driving habits with an old Sedan won't clock up enough to justify 80k on an EV. Talk about being letdown..
I really thought this would be boost the EV concept, 1 step forwards, 2 steps back.
WHY WHY WHY??? LOVE THE TESLA BUT WILL NEVER BUY IT COS IT'S SO EXPENSIVE.
