Thanks a lot and loved this over Xmas and so good to see it on YouTube and popular too!!!!
This is a great piece, mostly because it has real people and real views. I think it accurately reflects the apprehension and desire to do green things but the technology and assistance that is lacking in helping us. The recycling scheme is a good example of how the council helps lead the way and the walking/cycle stuff is brilliant. This website is definitely one of the best green transport resources on the net. I hope the video continues to inspire others as it has done me. Thanks to It's Up to All of Us, to Corey Feldman, everyone in the video and to Susan Hall. You are all champions!!
The Green Effect. I love it. Great idea, concept and yes it IS the Green Effect. We all need to do it, act now and save the planet. Just as you guys say, It's up to allof us!!!
I saw this over Christmas and wanted to direct the video to my granddaughter but when I logged on later, it had disappeared. I did email you and you kindly responded that it would return soon. Thank you for putting it up and in a permanent state, I will forward it on to my contacts list. Stay green and thank you for an enlightening blog that focuses on the world so wonderfully from a local angle. I love it!
Thank you for putting this up and laughed and enjoyed remembering last year's Under One Sky extravaganza. Hope to see you all there this year too.
Wow, that's a lot of hits!!! I saw it here and passed on the link and am pleased I can now pass it on to friends everywhere now via YouTube. My entire US clan are already watching it, liked the Under one sky one too.
Thank you for putting this up, i really enjoyed it.
I was visiting Harrow when this was filming and I'm in it! I talk about the lights being switched off! :P
The Green Effect is brilliant! I have shown it to so many people and I'm so pleased you've put it up. At my school, others are watching it on their phones. It's nice to see local content and something that affects everyone, especially us. Sometimes I wonder why adults didn't do more when they could, I hope we can clear up this mess.
Sharon, that's a fair comment. I'm 38 and I wish I had done more. When flights became cheap and EasyJet launched I took full advantage and took so many cheap holidays. I got sucked into buying lots of gadgets that waste electricity just because I could and green cars were unheard of until the past year or so. Blame us but I think we're changing. It helps that we are fortunate enough to live in Harrow and can recycle easily. I love the greenery here more than ever and promise to try and do more for the environment and my borough. Thank you for your post and it's heartening to see you and your friends are watching this video and acting on it.
It's incredible how things have changed with people watching videos on their phones, but I'm glad it's not the latest blockbuster that they're tuning in to but this!
I go to St Doms in Harrow and a lot of my classmates have seen it on YouTube too. It's wicked to see this kind of thing and I hope they do another one. I agree and get annoyed when teachers tell us how bad a state the planet is in and that we must do this and that. If you knew that, then why didn't THEY do it so we wouldn't be in this state?
I really feel bad when I read comments like this as it reminds me of how selfish we've been without realizing it. I never thought climate change was real or that we'd ever see any effect of our actions and now I know with extreme weather so common now that it has happened and it could be too late soon. Again, none of this fazes me but when you have children writing on your website who are being taught what to do, having technology to watch green videos and read things like this it's good to see they're receiving the right message, but also upsetting that we really did not do enough sooner for them. We only think of ourselves sometimes and I hope we can make amends and help out. I have planned to buy a new car for months and am now using my bus pass for now and will only buy once a very green car comes. I am taken aback with new technology and it isn't easy to learn about the new driving systems at my age and electric scares me, but I will make more of an effort than ever before. Thank you Sharon and your comment, you've made me think. I apologise to you and your generation from our generation.
THE GREEN EFFECT seems to be having an effect! Good on ya guys.
