It's Up to WHO?

It's Up to All of Us has been a campaign that has focussed on small changes we can all make. Through the site so far we've explored green topics of discussion, polls, competitions and prize draws, electric vehicle news, podcasts, multimedia and more.
The 'down-times' recently have been as preparation continues of new content which will be available very soon.
This filler post is simply to thank you for your patience and ask:
If you could shoulder the responsibility of the planet on one person, who would it be?
Stay positive!

Thank you for all your work on this site and campaign, I really enjoy logging on and reading the discussions and learning more.

I wish it was updated every day though as I check it every day and want little green tips.

As to your question, the answer is simple: it's up to Me!

No one can take the blame for what I do or don't do and I can't say being green has to come from government or celebrities. Yes, those who we elect or look to as leaders SHOULD lead by example but sometimes they don't and you can't control that. What you can do is set the example yourself and make things happen. If I haven't changed myself or something in my life, what's the use in shifting the blame?

It's up to me and therefore it's up to all of us to change and save the planet!

It's up to the govt to introduce incentives that make people change and decentives to stop people from destroying our planet but it won't happen. Look at tobacco, it kills so many people every day yet the govt hasn't stopped it being made because it's profitable. We're just pawns in the game.

I agree with the lovely post from R Finn:
It is up to all of us. I go to bed every night and am accountable for how my day was, not anyone else. If I recycled then good for me, if I didn't then shame on me!

It's up to us all to do what we can and through it achieve enlightenment.

I began my journey into oneness with the universe and planet four years ago and learnt first about the health benefits of a plant-based diet. If you eat from what is natural your body rewards you and heals itself, if you eat from meat ridden with bacteria you are playing Russian roulette with your food every day.

I have evolved now and accept the different lifestyles that make us one planet, but feel we need to act now to save mother earth.

It is up to us to recycle - make yourself feel good and gain karmic energy, if the people who collect your bin don't recycle it's on them.
It's up to me to cycle and walk more because it makes me feel better, gets me fitter and keeps my heart pumping. It helps me get more fresh air which I don't get being couped up in modern day cubicle offices and vehicles where life is designed to be confined to a limited space instead of getting you around.

It's up to me to take a train when I can and be the body that lowers the carbon footprint of the journey.

I feel more at one with myself and the universe due to my actions in the past few years and this site is a hotbed of positive energy which is always welcome.

Thank you for your work and I have met some very interesting people online here. Every connection brings you karmic brownies!

Not as deep as Johnny's response but yes, I try to be more greener now because of what I've read here and in books/press.

So it's up to me and I want to thank Harrow Council for the bins, for events like Under One Sky, the free cycle training, your wonderful it's up to all of us campaign and events and for everything.

I know people complain about a lot of things but sometimes we forget the good and the above is just a taste of the positive things you do.

I am not a hardcore greenie but have changed things in my life because of you guys and feel better for it, and like Johnny in some way, happier.
Cheers!

Everyone including govts, orgs, councils and individuals should take responsibility. The other posts are true but highlight its up to me, I say its up to all of us meaning all people and orgs.

As we all evolve toward the best completion of our spiritual missions, the technological means of survival will be fully automated as humans focus instead on synchronistic growth. Such growth will move humans into higher energy states, ultimately transforming our bodies into spiritual form and uniting this dimension of existence with the after-life dimension, ending the cycle of birth and death.

Whoa, this thread is heavy.

David Lucas said...

Kipasa, I have no idea what that means your answer is but it sounds deep. I'm pleased going green has had a profound effect on you!

EmmetFan said...

Why is everything in the future heavy? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull? Weight has nothing to do with it!

LOL, Sorry, couldn't resist!!!

LOL @ THE DOC AND THE OTHER GUY! U ROCK!

Ruff Ryder said...

Kipasa, that's an amazing insight. Do you really think automated machine-work will make humans redundant? And what if we cannot then focus on our spirits but instead are harvested by the machines like in The Matrix? Or taken over like Terminator?

Anonymous said...

What is the Matrix???

Steve R said...

Ok, I'm not sure that's a genuine question (it could be as it has been 10 years) or if it's a witty retort.

Either way, cool man.

Tom Lemming said...

Who is responsible for the environment to The Matrix and machines taking us over - THIS IS WHAT I LOVE ABOUT YOU GUYs, YOU JUMP FROM ONE THING TO SOMETHING ELSE AND DO IT SO NATURALLY!!!!

My personal vote goes to councils - I recycle cos I have the bins, I would drive a green car if it got me free parking, etc.

Johnny Nevermind, some interesting thoughts. I'm a meat eater and don't think there's anything wrong with it if it's organic meat without the chemicals added. Each to their own!

Emma Watkins said...

I agree with both Anon and Johnny Nevermind, you both are polar opposites of the food eating kind yet respect each other's views.

I used to eat meat but no longer do because meat takes longer to digest, and the modern meat processes are not so hygenic and being sick is not pleasurable.

Plus given the number of vegetarian dishes you can make you realise you never miss the things you imagine.

Emma, Johnny et al:
Since becoming a vegetarian at the age of 34 I enjoy eating more. I have more energy and most of all, my aura is stronger. One can actually feel one's karmic debt decrease with every meal. My wife enjoys preparing meals for the both of us and it strengthens our bond. It's a deeply spiritual thing the more you think about it.

The proteins you'd get from meat are easily attainable from alternatives now and I was never a big milk drinker anyway.

Vegetarianism is a natural step for anyone seeking oneness with the spirit. The conscience is powerful in a good way when clear and weak when not.

Peace and love for all, to each their own and let us unite and celebrate one world one love one Harrow. Y'all are a cool crowd to hang with online! :)

Stephanie M said...

PRNM, I feel I should be insulted by your post because it preaches vegetarianism and belittles carnivores but you do it so nicely I just want to hug you!

I agree the most with your closing comments on each their own and one world. Let's get back to the topic of who you'd shoulder the resp for the planet - I agree it'd be me.

The buck stops here. Govt, countries, civilisations, worlds, leaders and the people. Who are we? All individuals who make up the people, so yes:

ITs UP TO ALL O US!

And GOD BLESS US COZ WE FUNKY!

DW Roper said...

Sorry to be a downer, but I think vegetarians are overrated.
Why waste your time worrying about animals when so many people are suffering? Vegetarians are wasting their compassion and distracting themselves from human pain.

You don't need to be a veg to save the planet.

PRNM said...

DW ROPER: I dig this site becuz we all have different views. Conflicting thoughts help us all grow. Your comment is interesting but I disagree with the first part and agree with the second.

Compassion is an action word with no boundaries. It is never wasted. To eat a tomato and then replant it for your nutrition as opposed to killing a cow or a pig for your meal is reducing the amount of suffering in the world. Besides, pigs are too cute to die.

Second point: You don't have to be a vegetarian to save the planet, you are absolutely right. This is not the issue and just a sidetrack where this topic has headed.
If you recycle, walk when you can, take a bus instead of your car when it's good for you, adapt your living to a greener lifestyle, it's all cool.

Vegetarianism is more about spirituality and a life choice. I wholeheartedly support you doing what YOU can because we all different. Meat eaters and vegetarians are travelling on the same buses, we all from the same seed. How we choose to live our life is what makes us different and let's celebrate those differences. Thank u for your contribution.

Ok, just a tip, can the webmaster add vegetarian to the tag of this thread, it's very itneresting and shows a lot. I'm not a veg though but found it interesting.

Future lies in the hands of the children. Teach the babies.

Peace to the mother that knows
That the babies are the key to the world, the battles of the future will be won by those who teach those baby boys and girls,
This is the plea to the brothers
who are tired of barely getting by, instead you should try
to see your future map out your steps and make sure no one dies
