I honestly can't see the benefit of this. Seems a bit big brother to me.
If this means borough recycling will go up (although it's not clear how) then good. If it means we'll be penalized on how much we recycle in the future, then that's not good because someone has pinched my bin twice so I've taken theirs. Plus someone keeps putting fish and chips wrappers in my brown bin after it comes back from being picked up and I'm eventually going to stop cleaning up someone else's mess.
A couple of million is a lot of money to spend on something that isn't essential when we need the money in apparently-debt-ridden Harrow.
I am so proud Harrow is doing so much to encourage recycling and LOVE the green/blue/brown bin scheme. I have never had any problems with refuse collectors and on the one occasion my bin wasn't collected I called the council and it was promptly rectified. I have taught my children the value of recycling and when they talk to their friends in other areas they are impressed that we recycle so much, which has been made easier thanks to Harrow Council. Well done!
Recycling is cool and easy in Harrow so there.
I don't trust this investment and think it will be used to spy on us further evidence of the nanny state.
Recycling is easy in Harrow and the scheme to monitor and call when a bin is missed is brilliant. Well done and keep it up Harrow.
I like that we can call the council and they'll call the bin crew - it's a nice personal touch. Not sure I want 3 mill spent on it, but then this emans we can't hear anything else about there being a financial crisis if they've decided to spend it on this. But yes, big thumbs up from me!
pointless, wastes money and gives us robocop-bins. whats the pint?
Robocop bins! LOL! What's the PINT? LOL!!!!!
robobins! LOL!
Recycle people, it's the only way. If Harrow want to help you do it, so be it. I love living in Harrow!
