On the Radio...

"Winter is the time of year when people are the most inactive. You'd think the Christmas shopping would get everyone more energized and out there but it doesn't. 8 out of 10 people in a national survey responded that they would do their Xmas shopping online or last minute and a whopping 7 out of 10 admitted they felt December was about food, rewarding yourself and is when you feel you may as well let yourself go because it's the end of the year and any new year resolutions would take care of any excess weight they'd pile on. The scary thing is, the majority of these people (9 out of 10) already had gym memberships and admitted they weren't going even once a week.

Britain, wake up! Get up out of bed and if you feel cold, dance to work, run to school or cycle to the nearest train station but don't just roll out of bed, shovel food in your mouth and drive to work. And why aren't you using your gym memberships? Are you waiting for 2009 to renew your vow to actually not waste money?

Are you one of these statistics or do they sound ridiculous and not representative of everyone? Call us now on..."

Some of this sounds right, still shocking though. Fat December coming up!

December is about gluttony people, accept it!

Yes I can see this all coming together now...... Come Decmber I feel lazier, slower, want to eat more mice pies and do less as I wind down the year. I never realised it's so common!!!

MICE pies? Eek!

I think she meant mince pies!

Yes, definitely mince pies and not mice pies (what a yukky thought!)!!!

I'm determined now to go to the gym at least twice a week until our Xmas lunch at work.

I bought everything online, have travelled less so far because it's so cold and have not yet eaten more but will do come the 20th - 27th due to lunches, dinners and events. Sue me. Ok don't. But I will work it all off in Jan, promise. Sound familiar? Me too!

LOL ok we're all slobs in December and admit it. But hey. that's why Jan comes after Dec right?

OK, I don't agree with you. I work extra hard to make myself look ace for Xmas as that's the only time I see some of the fam.

So for me it's the opposite. Work harder in Dec and let myself go in Jan.

Tis true: The cold mornings have turned me away from my workouts. Now I drink more hot beverages and try to keep busy.
