I came the following article recently about greening your life in 7 days:
We all know global warming is a fact. And we'd all like to do something to make a difference. But where to begin? The answer, of course, is in our own homes and daily routines. Donnachadh McCarthy, one of Britain's leading expert in green living, believes seven days is all it takes to cast aside the bad habits of a lifetime. Here he explains how to change for the better - starting tomorrow.. continue reading here.

1. Decide to change!
2. Recycle. Recycle your rubbish, your clothes and clear out any and all junk you have. Detox your life if you're ready to go green.
3. Buy green. Everything you now purchase must be recyclable and sustainable. Trust me, if it's not organic, it still works out cheaper.
4. Live green. Everything you do, think first if you can do it a different and greener way and does it benefit you? Most times it will!
I cycle into work now and it saves me so much money. I was not a cyclist until visiting one of the events in Harrow (Mass Bike Ride) and trying it out there. I really enjoyed it and thought I'd push myself further and took up the free cycle training. After that I was sure I wanted to keep this up and got advice on buying a bike and also routes to work. harrow were kind enough to actually plot my routes and help me find the right one for me as well as do a test ride with me - I am impressed!
I now cycle in 3 days a week and it saves me a packet. Go for 2 wheels for a faster journy, a guaranteed journey time, for the exercise and you're doing your part for the planet. Go green!
I now wear all green. That's it. So I have greened my lifestyle via obsession.
1. recycle. it's the easiest thing to do.
2. walk more. Don't walk everywhere. Just walk more. You'll enjoy it and then feel like doing it even more.
3. when you go to see a film, instead of meeting your mates there, pick them up on the way. Car sharing helps.
4. Use public transport. It's cheaper, more convenienet and you see hot chicas on the tube.
5. Can't think of any more right now, but do all of the above and you're on your way. Welcome to the layer cake son.
I wanna live Freddy5's lifestyle! Sounds cool!!!!!!!!!
on the metropolitan line from rayners lane to baker street, in the 3rd carriage from the end at approx 0823 there was a guy sitting with a copy of the Metro with short brown hair, 5'11 and brown eyes. He gave his seat up to the young lady with orange/auburn hair, around 5'8 in the red and white polka dot dress who had a white purse/bag and smelt like heaven. She smiled at him and they kept exchanging glances throughout the journey to baker street where he got off. She stayed on and he turned to look at her before the train left and she looked at him and smiled. The man is now regretting what could have been even if the chance encounter only led to conversation and more smiles. At work he is typing this and is sending a message into cyberspace hoping she's reading. I am that man, if you are this woman, please get in touch. 0823, Rayners Lane metropolitan line to Baker street, 3rd carriage from end and I wore a dark grey suit, white shirt and was connecting with you on some level. If you do read this, have a great day. Your being on that train made mine and I hope we can reconnect soon.
I have successfully made contact with this person! Public transport officially rocks!
well done! See, greening your life can enhance your social life too ;-)
Day 1: Think about your life and how to green it.
Day 2: Do it!
There you go!
You only need one day to green your lfiestyle: the day you decide to do it!
1. Think and list all you do that you think is environmentally unfriendly.
2. Put a tick next to those you know you can change and they will be more environmentally friendly.
3. Start recycling everything. Old clothes? Send them to the charity shop. Old mobile? Recycle.
4. Monitor your car journeys for a week then decide which ones you can change with ease. Most short trips you can probably use a bus or cycle or even walk. Do it.
5. Start walking more and see if you're out of breath. If you are through just walking, bad news: you're unfit! Walk more to get fit!
6. Find a friend to tell about all the stuff you've done in stages 1-5.
7. Get them to do it all too!
DONE!
