It's Up To All Of Us

Nicky Whelan, the face of Harrow’s travel awareness campaign, has begun work on her Hollywood debut entitled “Hollywood and Wine”. Nicky used to be on the popular Australian soap Neighbours and left the show to pursue some offers from Hollywood.
Nicky was kind enough to not only be the face of the campaign but also to appear at our I Move London launch event to announce she was going to be endorsing the initiative which promotes walking, cycling, car sharing and using public transport as a means to alleviate transport congestion, pollution and save the planet.

The campaign theme is ‘It’s Up to All of Us’ and can be seen on banners across Harrow town centre as well as on posters in libraries from this Summer onwards.

We’ve had a lot of positive comments on the blog and the majority of visitors to this site are those who’ve seen the banners. What do you think about them and have any of them inspired you to think more about the way you travel?

I have seen the banners in Harrow and think they are very effective. They are pleasant and attractive and look very nice, especially because the message is also about Harrow. I saw the banners and that's how I heard about this website.

I really like the banners especially the ones of the girl holding the world and the cycling ones. These are the strongest images and the bus stop ones always make me realise I need to dig my book out or do something productive with my journey home. The car sharing one is good too and the walking one is just ok.

Really? I like the walking one because you can see Nicky’s actually walking in Harrow with the statue of the skipping girl in the background.

I love the cycling one, every time I see it, it makes me want to get on my bike! Go girl power!

Hello, I find myself constantly reminded every time I come out of Debenhams about how I travelled to the Harrow and I make myself the promise to try and walk more. I like this new campaign and hope to see more of it soon.

I agree with the earlier comment, the public transport one is wicked!

The banners are cool. I think about the way I get around now after seeing these every day on the way to school. I also think Nicky is stunning!

Banners are great, the cycling and bus ones are the best. I see the bus one every day when I'm sitting up top of the 182.

The banners are wicked and the chick is hot. When's she coming back and can I have her number?
