Walk to Work Day 2008

Walk to Work day is on April 24 2008.

Why not try walking to work or part of the way on this day and join thousands across London who are stepping out to make a difference.

Discover a whole new side of Harrow. Leave the traffic jams and crowds behind. Enjoy the sun. See the streets come alive. Stop . . . have a coffee. You will soon be asking yourself why you haven't done it before. It is even better if you walk with friends and share the experience.
You'll arrive at work in a very different state of mind: relaxed, stress free and alert.
Planning your journeyIf you already walk some of the way, doing a bit more won't be difficult. Look at your journey and see how you can fit it in. A mile will take you 20-25 minutes, if you walk briskly.

If you’re around Harrow town centre on April 24 between 12 and 2pm, why not pop outside the main reception of Harrow Civic Centre on Station Road and get yourself a free fitness test. The test is a quick method at assessing your current fitness levels and will provide practical advice on how you can fit more exercise in a day and do your bit for the environment. There will also be the chance to pedal for your own smoothie while you’re waiting for the results.

So come along to Harrow Civic Centre in your lunch break between 12-2pm to get your health fix. See you there!
