Much of what goes on in Harrow that is out of the average person's control and is to do with the environment, falls under the remit of elected Councillors who are Portfolio Holders for specific areas.
Cllr Susan Hall, portfolio holder for environment services, has been actively championing environmental change in Harrow particularly dealing with recycling, transport issues and air quality. When she learned about the new campaign and blog, she wanted to send a message of support out to every netizen and to thank the people who make the difference every day:
"Climate change has dominated the headlines in recent times and with so many calls to action, it's heartening to see Harrovians stepping up to do their bit. Harrow is privileged to be one of the London boroughs with a recycling scheme, a commitment to the environment and ongoing efforts towards tackling climate change. The theme of this campaign is 'it's up to all of us' and I'm pleased that we're rising to and meeting this commitment to do what we can to safeguard the future."
