Fantastic podcast and message. Hollywood walks too and walks it off. We've seen Beyonce on a bike, Arnold on a bike and Mad Men on trains all on this site, now we get Mayte doing everything! I'm so pleased you have a hybrid too, you are an inspiration in every sense Mayte!

We get a glimpse into your heart and soul and how caring, loving and positive you are and hear stories from your years growing up that we never knew. I am so impressed you walked your dog so much your jeans got baggy! I loved hearing about you and your bike and your message is so true: it's the best way to discover a place if you get out and take a walk or bus. Thank you for this, it is so good to hear about you after so long.
I had no idea you were doing stuff like films and DVDs, I saw you on X Factor but that was it.
We never forgot you because you were part of a huge movement and experience that will never be recreated. The Beautiful Experience, Gold Experience and NPG era was wild and the best. We all united for a cause and spread freedom, love and positivity and here we are now and you're still promoting those things.
You're part of this new movement and saving the environment which is so nice of you.

This is hands down the most coolest podcast ever! Thanks for bringing Mayte to the show, to Mayte for coming on it, the background music is groovy (but where's the piano Mayte was mentioning?) and I loved the stories she told and her very important message.
I checked out the twitter pic of the campaign and it's amazing. So beautiful and glowy. Spiritual and karmic that drives home we can all do it. We're all champions of the planet and by recycling, reusing bags, changing how we travel when we can we really can make a huge difference.

When Mayte says she walked off so much weight through walking her dog during Army Wives, it has really inspired me to walk more. Yesterday and today I walked for 45 mins each day. The weather is great (stayed out of the peak sun times) and I feel better already. Hope I can keep it up and lose some weight too. Definitely feel better already, thanks Mayte and It's Up to all of us for inspiring me to make an instant change.

Yeah me too, hope Mayte reads this, it's such a massive reaction to her, and when they said there was a podcast with her coming soon there were comments on how much people were looking forward to it. She's really had a good effect and seems to have inspired lots of people to do stuff, hope she continues to do so and we hear more of her on here soon!
Amazing how one person is so green and does all this and manages so many animals and a Hollywood career. And people here say they're too busy to start walking/cycling! If she can do it, we all should.

The bits on her growing up and family life were really interesting. I agree she comes across as inspiring especially when she reveals she walked a lot and found her trousers getting baggier. She's made car sharing sound like a blast too, how she covered everything in 10- minutes is astounding and managed to get a whole community together. Well done to Harrow, its up to all of us and Mayte.

Guys if in 10 minutes she's given us so much fun and encouragement, she should have her own reality show where we follow her waking up, having brekkie, with all her animals, meeting them, going car pooling (i love this word now!), singing, riding a bike etc and walking and even dancing. The reality show sounds amazing - it would be so much fun to see her with all these crazy animals and how she walks the dogs, sings to birds, car shares and rides the bike ringing that bell DING DING DING! And ending it with a BD class would be so cool. Mayte, are you listening? DO IT GIRL! YouTube it and it'll hopefully get picked up if the response is good. ABC, NBC, ITV whoever - it's interesting to everyone and would be good for the planet, animal lovers, healthy living, the works!
That is a really cool idea. It could start with clips from her journey so far and career and end with someone ringing the door bell and Mayte answering it and introducing us to her pad. Then we could have an interview like the pod cast intercut with images/videos of her animals and then that would set the whole thing up. I love it when the guy on the podcast says why are you doing this and she says without hesitation 'because I love the planet' that should definitely be in there, and he could follow her around and we could see her cook, prep for class, take meetings, getting friends together to car share, etc. It'd inspire so many people and be fun. Her lifestyle being hectic would inspire others and how she manages to juggle all this and do her bit, recycling etc. It would be so cool. Can someone get this message to Mayte?
Love the podcast and the idea for a reality show. It'd be great for her and would make a difference, plus we'd get to see her too. Hope there's a sequel to this podcast soon or one where she reads and responds to our comments questions? C'mon Harrow/Mayte, demand is high for another podcast and ask her about a reality show and about Baby Bull and Pedro and the birds etc. Well done on making her sing.

Ok that's it: y'all are the scriptwriters for a new reality video podcast show called Mother Mayte.
The concept is we follow her around with her animals and travels and put q's to her and the animals take over.
You all crack me up, this stuff is brilliant! If only she could read it, she'd see how much love there is for her and how many she's inspiring. Fab stuff. I can't believe where this thread has gone from comments to ideas to more. Brill.

I really enjoyed listening to this and found it moving and inspiring. I love that she has so many pets and STILL manages to care about the environment, cycle, walk and promote walking actively and walking to lose weight and also slips in that she has a Prius. The cycle story made me laugh! I really enjoyed hearing about her experiences growing up. I have admired Mayte for a while and hearing about her formative years was fascinating. She has a lot of love and she channels it to every living thing around her. She sounds lovely and I’m reeling from the message and how she remembers all her pets’ names! She does have a gorgeous voice (THANK YOU FOR PUTTING HER ON THE SPOT) and helping us find out so much about where she’s from and how environmentally conscious she is.
