BRILLIANT, LOVE IT! And Sir Alan too! never knew he was a cyclist.
you're on your bike!
Would be excellent to bump into him on a ride some day, especially in that gear!
I love the apprentice and this is amazing that he's such a keen enthusiast and he's definitely lost a lot of weight. Great endorsement.
This is brilliant stuff, Sir Alan in lycra and in the best shape ever thanks to cycling. Why wasn't this given more press? It's superb!
Surprising they haven' had a challenge on the show based on cycling given his interest in this.
Yeah Roy, I can see it now. Design me a bike that makes me go faster, avoid all lights and traffic and I get to keep the prototype. YOU'RE ALL FIRED!
Sir A is ace! GWAN!
The Apoprentice is wicked, great to see sugarman is a cycliser too!
teddy B, I'm pleased you're so enthusiastic but you're expression is full of grammatical and language errors!
The title is a bit misleading, he hasn't hired anyone to cycle anywhere. It should be Sir Alan from the Apprentice Changes his life through Cycling.
Yes Mitch, I agree, that is a title that would mean no one would need to read the post or would fit in anyone's browser!
It's really heartening to see this, I'm very pleased cycling has positively changed his life. I hope others feel as inspired as him and especially overweight successful businessmen. We need more men in suits donning lycra!
LOL@Teddy B! You really are enthusiastic!
The Apprentice should show him cycling too, that would be great television and promoting cycling.
Yes, you're right, it would make great television - NOT! How on earth is seeing him cycle on a show nothing to do with cycling good television???
Also he's not here to promote the planet, he's a businessman and promotes his business. I'm sure this piece is a true reflection but he must have agreed to it as additional PR for him and his company. Wake up people, was the G20 protest for nothing??
This is waivering way off topic. Sir Alan, good on ya!
You're fired from driving and hired for cycling!
Lol@ALANTHESUGARDADDY and especially at the name!
Cycling is underrated. If there was a documentary or something on how it's changed people's lives, I bet it would get everyone cycling.
How has cycling changed your life Kat?
It's changed mine because I save a packet in travel costs and gets me fitter.
I dropped 2 dress sizes from regular cycling. I used to cycle to and from work which I started to try and lose weight and then learnt about the impact cycling at different speeds has on the body and burning bodyfat, so attempted that on my journey and lost the weight in no time. I honestly had lost all hope until I began cycling.
Never thought of restricting your food intake? I think it's called, er.. DIETING!
Charmers Lloyd that's a mean comment. Not welcome here.
Oi Charmers: BOOOOOO!
Steady on Charmers, that was uncalled for.
I didn't mean it as offensive, calm it. Just saying if you're trying to lose weight the first thing to do is try diet.
No offence taken Charmers, I have been asked that a lot. I had tried dieting and to no luck. Cravings would seep in and I'd binge more. I guess overeating is a psychological problem as well as something with obvious physical effects. I tried diet pills, diets and everything and only felt like I couldn't achieve anything. I felt unattractive despite not being obese and someone suggested I try cycling into work. Work's not far so it would be a little effort, and it worked. I started out finding it difficult and when I got used to it I started cycling faster and taking detours. Now I cycle almost 3 times my work distance and I've lost the extra weight. It changed my life for sure and I think it's the combination of getting some exercise, working off stress and craving the right foods instead of the wrong ones. Losing weight for people who are overweight is one thing but overcoming a problem like mine is different. I felt cycling cleared my headspace as well as arteries. I would recommend it to anyone.
Kat, thank you for such an inspiring post.
*Applauds* Three cheers for Kat! Nice story and well done, keep cycling!
Kat, that is beautiful, well done.
Amazing stuff Kat, you should be an ambassador for cycling!
Very well done Kat, that is a touching story and sorry if I said anything out of turn.
Thanks everyone and thank you Charmers!
WELL DONE KAT, YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION!
Back to Sir Alan, he's amazing. He should be on his bike everywhere!
I admit it: I clicked for the recipe for the energy booster. Am I weird?
I clicked to see Alan Sugar in lycra - and I'm a guy! Am I weird!!
LOL and the both of you! I clicked to read an interesting cstory but got the above 2 things for free ;)
I want to soooo work for AS. I'd even be his bike courier for free. If he wouldn't take me for that, I'd even be his carrot juicer. Are you listening sir Alan?? TAKE ME!
Gotta love Sir Alan!
Diggin this, cool story. Plus hugz to Kat Fellows.
Kat, that is a really nice story. You are an inspiration and a hero. I am overweight and people tell me to just workout and eat right which is near impossible, which they don't understand. Every day is depressing and food acts as comfort food, plus I too have a problem that I just overeat.
I will try and start cycling thanks to your post. Good luck to you and keep cycling if it works.
Much love, Kat. You Rock!
Sir Alan, you're FIRED! I've always wanted to say that.
