er, thats a bit more than what I currently do and feel I can do. Time to try some cycling in the summer sun instead as I fear my feet will drop off if I walk 100 steps per minute!
It's not that much you cry-baby! Time them and you'll see!!!!
It's great to finally have some clarification, 100 steps per minute is basically walking briskly right? I think doing it for 30 mins is a bit much but maybe if I break it up I might be able to manage it. I'm switching to walking briskly as much as I can in a day!
U'll be zipping all over the place Linda!
So pedometers only literally measure steps?
"In general, men needed to walk at a pace of 92 to 102 steps per minute to achieve a moderately intense workout for their hearts. The range for women was between 91 and 115 steps per minute."
I can do this, watch me!
I love walking, especially in the Summer months and I'm not talking about a Summer stroll but a swift walk. You DO feel like you've got the heart rate up and feel more energetic afterwards. I love it! Get walking!
Point to note naysayers: it says start with trying to achieve 1000 steps per 10 mins then work your way up from there. So don't try and do 30 mins worth of it all at once and relegate yourselves to couch potatohood.
LOL@CC: Is potatohood even a word?
pedometers are good for measuring steps and if you can time yourself as well then you can measure how much you're doing. Some do have counters on them and some have weight/height measurements. I guess it's how much you want to spend, or better yet borrow one and then know how fast you need to walk and get to it.
Or use the iPhone app.
Or any phone. Most have downloadable applications now including stepcounting ones with time and enterables too.
All this talk of exercise is making me tired.
I'm at my desk and my feet are weeping just reading this and realizing my intentions. BRING IT!
I'm going to try this, who's with me?
I will walk too!
walk this way! Talk this way!
these boots are made for walking and that's just what they'll do
Wanna these dayz these boots r gonna walk all ovver u!
I need more exercise and less gluttony but what can I do, my stomach and feet just can't seem to agree!
I am trying this on the weekend if the weather holds up.
